All is well that ends well. We spent the night at an anchorage next to the marine base of Camp Lejeune and the wind was Howling! It was also the first time on the hook, so we slept w/ 1 eye on the anchor alarm. We had a tough slog today along the Cape Fear River, and as Francisco noted, we were coming in to the Southport marina with extremely high winds. But once off the boat, Southport was great! The dock hands were really helpful, and we met some locals at the marina that lent us their car to go shopping and gave us a great dinner recommendation at “LOCO Jo’s”. Here is the real Loco Jo, serving up the best oysters Rockefellers we ever had. Local and delicious. Southport is a lovely town, definitely worth a stop.
